The Conil Tuna Route, wild red almadraba tuna
Come to Conil and enjoy the pleasures of its 26th tuna route. You will get surprised by exclusive tapas and cultural activities during the month of may.
The day of the gastronomic show will take place on Friday May 5th. Just next to "La Chanca", a very Almadraberian place, the Center for Interpretation and Documentation of the Sea, Tuna and Almadraba
The Almadraba is an Andalusian Arabic word meaning "place where one strikes or fights". It is a traditional and ancient tuna fishing technique that takes advantage of the migration of tuna from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean. It consists of installing a net labyrinth in the passage of the tuna, placed near the coast.
The event begins with the traditional “Ronqueo” of wild almadraba tuna (the filleting). Afterwards, all participants can enjoy the gastronomic tastes that will be found in the exclusive menus of the participating restaurants and bars throughout the route.
In addition, numerous products from the route's partners will be raffled off among visitors who try at least three participating restaurants.
A variety of activities are organized throughout the month, so in addition to enjoying tuna gastronomy, you can also enjoy a rich program of artistic and cultural activities based around the wild bluefin tuna of Almadraba.
